Central Pennyslvania Writers Organization

C.P.W.O.

In 1985, my friend Charles W. Byrd and I formed a small writers group that became known as the Central Pennsylvania Writers Organization, or more fondly, CPWO (with or without the periods).

CPWO still exists today! It's a small but active group of writers that meet monthly at the Palmyra Municipal Center in Lebanon County. For more information, visit the CPWO Web site. One of the best things about CPWO is that you do not need to be a published writer or author to attend the meetings.

I highly recommend any aspiring writer to get involved with a local writers organization that meets at least once a month. You can learn so much from others, and just being in a meeting will help you develop your own discipline. Get to those meetings ... and keep on writing!
